School
Band
Students
in grades 3-5 can become members of the school band. Mr.
Artie, music teacher, has a brass and woodwinds section for
band. If
interested, please see him. Band practices are held
throughout the
week.
Biography:
Artie Denman is a music instructor,
composer, and musician. He lives in east Charlotte with his wife and
daughter. Artie has been developing a music program at CCS
since 2005. As a 25 year veteran percussionist, his extensive
resume includes such highlights as performing with the Crossmen Drum
and Bugle Corps. Artie received a bachelor’s degree
in music education from James Madison University in 1998, and recently
completed his Orff-Schulwerk Level I training at Winthrop
University. He hopes to pass a lifelong love of music on to
future generations.
