| Welcome Community Charter School is a project based K-5 school with an emphasis on the arts located in Charlotte’s historic Cherry neighborhood. Instead of operating on a one size approach to learning, we treat all students as individuals. Students are placed in multi-grade classrooms (K-1, 2-3 or 4-5), where education is not a competition, but a place to learn. Within this classroom community, students learn at their own pace. ...[more] 2011-2012 Open House Dates (Updated) CCS held it's lottery on March 18th and is currently placing students on it's waitlist in the order the application is received. Application forms are not available on the website, as we do ask parents to attend an open house before deciding to place their child at CCS. Community Charter school will be holding Open House for the 2011-2012 school year on the following dates. During Open House, you will learn about the school’s history, philosophy, behavioral management, typical daily schedule, tour the school and have the opportunity to fill out an application and ask questions.
